Who is Kinnkin-Yinun?
I fell in love with Mount Zion films after watching 'Agbara Nla' many years back. And the fact that my family practices Christianity made it easier to quickly relate with the messages. What again helped me so much were the few moments I spent in children Sunday School classes at Christ Church Mapo, Berre at Ibadan under the coordination of Mr Adepoju who was at a time the Caretaker Chairman for Ona Ara Local Government.
I couldn't but appreciate my parents for the great mentoring and parenting. And also our neighbours who always gave me the chance to watch 'coloured television' in their 'parlours' during those times, though painful that at a point, we were denied watching 'Ori-Ade, Koto- Orun' etc. Omotoso Olumide, one if my childhood friends can relate to this. But then, we did enjoy Mount Zion films.
Then, even till now, most TV stations must show one or two Mount Zion films especially during Easter and Christmas periods. Did you say are they the only one? No! They are just outstanding and message-centered. They are amazing.
It is also because while entertaining the public with their well structured words, laced with deep scriptural meanings that are beautifully delivered, Mount Zion characters go a little further using appropriate gestures cum body movements to expressing the needed emotions without missing on the message, the ultimate goal.
Recently, you all will agree with me that there is one character who is at the center of the current trending Mount Zion film, 'ABEJOYE', a very outstanding message-filled film. For me, that character is 'Kinnkin-Yinun'.
Who really is 'Kinnkin-Yinun'? Something must happen whenever Kinnkin-Yinun is angry. Still trying to unravel that character! Who is 'Kinnkin-Yinun' to you?
